Is a deity without a doctrine like a gun without bullets?

…a shark without teeth or a tiger without claws? You know, the deity might exist no matter what but it is the doctrine that man creates that gives the deity his ‘personality,’ right?

Is a deity without a doctrine like a gun without bullets?
Well, if we look around, we see that deities that HAVE a doctrine, are usually at the forefront of firing bullets at people of a different deity who has a different doctrine.

So if there was a deity WITHOUT a doctrine, then yeah, I guess the bullets wouldn't fly.

It's only until you encumber your imagined deity with imagined sayings and mandates that he becomes dangerous.

Reply:yes

thats why buddhists dont hurt you
Reply:good description since deities and their doctrines encourage killing other people for believing in different deities and doctrines.
Reply:God has defined Himself in scripture... your opinion, my opinion, neither matter...
Reply:LOL. Great analogies!!

Only one problem - all that you mention are REAL objects, and could still cause death (just drop a gun, shark or tiger on someones head!)... Mythological deities pose no real threat...
Reply:Same goes for 'atheism without Desiree'.

Atheism is totally harmless, you seem to wanna be the bullets.

Edit: nahh, not uncalled for, sorry. I'm getting truly tired of the empty bullets and insults you shoot at Christians every single day. It gives us all a bad name, and I refuse to be part of that.
Reply:you bet - but still a threat , don't forget that. it is only a matter of time before one finds the other !

(((( (Des)))))
Reply:Deities are like TV networks, and religions are like the advertisers. We need to ditch the TV and start paying attention to actual real PEOPLE.
