Christians, do articles like this one offend your religious beliefs?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080327/ap_o...

It's a news article about some kid finding a 2 million year-old fossil.

Christians, do articles like this one offend your religious beliefs?
well considering the fact that i know the world is only about 6000 years old i dont believe the article. but no it doesnt offend me different people different beliefs. but my bible says the world is only 6000 years old so I am going with god because he truly is the only one who really knows.
Reply:The kids did indeed find something.... it is the unbelievers who pervert the dating and the ages of such fossils

Who was there at the beginning of Creation to sample the original radioactive levels? How do ye make ratios when you do not have the datas at its origin?

Aren't you bigger fools to believe such basic lies??
Reply:No. I don't believe in evolution but it just means after G-d created man the creatures evolved, if you ask me. Also, why couldn't He have created the world 2 million years ago? (I know the bible says so but maybe they miscalculated... LOL)
Reply:no, because i remember that slightly more than one hundred years ago, doctors weren't washing hands between patients.

and w being elected twice, i am still recovering from that, that was the strangest thing that's happened lately.

and yahoo, while it is my home page, is not my home.
Reply:hehe, cool article.

I just saw a documentary on our public tv about a team in Austrailia finding a full intact skeleton fossil of a megafauna, some big marsupial pretty crazy animal...anyway those bones were from 500,000 to 1 million years old.

(they say the age of that fossil in the show not on the site...)

Pretty silly to think the world began 6,000 years ago, is that truely what some people believe? I cannot believe anyone really believes that..or is that just the poster up there above me? Does Christianity teach that? Cause if it does...wow, crazy.
Reply:People believe what they want to believe. It doesn't offend me but does go to show how gullible some people are. When you go to verify such claims it is amazing how many assumptions you will find until you finally realize what a guessing game it really is. The real question is, "How did they date that fossil?" The answer to that question is what amazes me as to what even the most educated folks are willing to believe.
Reply:No. Nobody was around 2 million years ago. Nobody can therefore tell me that this news is fact and not just a theory. There are NO scientific methods of dating fossils that are 100% accurate. Science changes and mistakes are often made and so I cannot take their evidence as definite proof.

God doesn't change, nor does he makes mistakes. I do believe God created the world, whenever it was or however he did it is never as important as the more important question.... why he created it and what is our purpose for being here.

Thanks for asking.
Reply:It's just a tooth.
Reply:Not at all. My religious beliefs are based on what happened 2000 yrs ago, not on the age of the earth.

peace
Reply:I have nothing really wrong with the article. People believe what they want to believe, but even most scientists will say that we can't definitivly prove the age of fossils, just make a guess based on what we now about the world now. Considering the amount the world has changed, I would consider this type of evidence rather thin.
