Kansas-Nebraska Sea, or Great Inland Sea?

i was told i have dinosaur or marine dinosaur bones from the kansas-nebraska sea, or great inland sea and i was just wondering if anybody knows weather or not there were megalodon teeth found where that sea may have been because ive tried to look up the sea and i havnt been able to find anything on it so i was just wondering if anybody knows wether or not megalodons lived in that sea or if you could find megalodon teeth in mississippi around the chickasawhay river because ive dug up shark teeth from around there so i know there are marine bones im just really curious if anyone knows if there could be megalodon bones. thank you in advance.

Kansas-Nebraska Sea, or Great Inland Sea?
No, you are not going to find megalodons in kansas. The sea of Kansas existed during the late cretaceous. For the geologically challenged, the Cretaceous ended with the Chixilub impact 65 million years ago. Megalodons lived about 1.6 to 16 million years ago.

someone went to a great deal of trouble to document some seriously dead fish.
Reply:all i can find sofar ..... there%26#039;s a bit about it in the book %26#039;Planet Ocean%26#039; by Ray Troll. it sounds like a great book, and you would probably enjoy it. there%26#039;s also a book %26#039;Oceans Of Kansas%26#039; by Michael J. Everhart ......just saw it now on SmartShopper. it%26#039;s subtitled %26#039;a natural history of the western interior sea%26#039;. i have a suspicion, though, that you might well find fossils of other time periods as well. i%26#039;ve emailed a fossil shark expert re. more info. on Mississippi, as well as your home state. i%26#039;ll let you know if/when i get a reply.
